Flip-card images during soccer games at the National Stadium are very popular. This one depicts the King.
Towards the middle of our trip we went to a soccer game between Chulalongkorn University and their rival. The King of Thailand was present, as well as hundreds of students from both schools. Chula won 2-0. During the day we wore our pink Chula shirts so that we could get into the game for free. Everywhere we went before the game we were cheered at by students from both teams.
MBK Shopping Mall
Next to the National Stadium is a 7-story shopping mall with movie theater. Absolutely anything you could ever wish to buy was available for a very low price - if you knew how to haggle. If we ever had a craving for American food we could buy some here, but it was extremely expensive compared to regular Thai food. The arcade was a good place to relax from your project if you wished. Our team didn't really have too much extra time, though.
