11/27/07: 40 Days and 40 Nights
It's been a while since I've posted to my blog. I've been busy trying to find time to spend with Eve when our two jobs don't keep us apart. I've started working for BAE Systems on their vehicle power system programs. She's been directing A Midsummer Night's Dream. Only two weeks until we get to spend some time on warm sandy beaches.

10/17/07: Brady Breaks the Rules
Yahoo! Sports ran an article on Tom Brady being fined by commissioner Roger Goodell of the NFL for not properly buckling his chin strap during a game. An obvious show of bravado, and telling that this is the only thing Brady has done wrong all season, the best part of the article belongs to the user comments. I only read the first dozen or so. My favorites:

10/16/07: October Update
The new apartment has lots of space. Eve and I have already had a few people over, and we plan to invite more people over soon. I start working with a new company next week: BAE Systems. Wish me luck!

10/15/07: A Midsummer Night's Dream
Eve is directing A Midsummer Night's Dream at Assumption College this fall. The show dates are Friday November 30th through Sunday December 1st.

8/20/2007: End of Exile
Eve gets back from her trip to the Philippines today. Actually she's been back in the U.S. since Friday, but has been visiting a friend in LA. There's lots to due in the near future, including planning some dance classes, directing a play, moving in together, etc. Should be an interesting month.

8/19/2007: Mt. Washington Hike
Brendan and I hiked Mt. Washington yesterday. I got a few nice pictures before the clouds rolled in, producing absolute obscurity.

8/7/2007: RFK 2008
A Myspace group has been set up to try and convince Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to run for President on the Democratic ticket in 2008. I know he's expressed disinterest in the top seat before; it did kill his father and uncle after all. Watch this video for a good example of why I'd vote for him.

8/5/2007: Adopt a Penguin
I've always wanted a penguin of my very own. I guess rescuing one in the same manner as a starving child in Africa is the next best thing.

8/4/2007: Movie Transcripts Online
I'm teaching some acting classes as part of summer dance camps and stumbled across an online database of movie transcripts. My favorite: Boondock Saints.

7/30/2007: Gina Mandella Dance Studio

7/29/2007: You Tempt With Gentle Grace
For anyone who doesn't know, and is interested, the origin for the name of my new production company Gentle Grace Productions comes from a poem I wrote in 2005. You can read it here.

7/28/2007: Harry Potter Chronology
As I have very little to keep myself occupied today, I've been having fun with Wikipedia. I found an entry for a Harry Potter Chronology. As with any Wikipedia entries you can't be too certain of its accuracy, but if you find something that's wrong, you can always fix it! Warning, I'm sure the timeline includes spoilers.

7/28/2007: Live from Clark University
Maybe most Clarkies know this, but I sure didn't realize that Jimi Hendrix recorded a live album at Clark University in 1968.

7/24/2007: Asking for Advice
My friend Genn said "advice given without asking is likely to be given in anger, or haste, and not always completely thought out." I can't complain about not getting any advice during my engagement, marriage, or divorce process since I didn't do a good job of asking for it. I hope from now on I can do better.

7/23/2007: Nice Doing Business With You
Today I had my divorce hearing, and everything went smoothly. It felt . . . anti climactic, which I think underscores the entire relationship. If anyone has any questions about what the hell I was doing with myself - just send me an email or phone call or ask me in person. I feel like I can now answer that familiar question of "why did I get married?"

Most of my family failed to give me any real advice during this divorce process and I'm not really sure why. One said she had no experience in the matter. Another said she didn't want to pry. A few said I had to do what makes me happy. That's bull. I have to do what's right, whether I'm happy or not. Leaving Amber is what was right; in the final analysis it was for the best.

7/22/2007: Harry Potter
I spent the entire day yesterday reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the seventh and last book of the series), which came out at midnight yesterday morning.

I really enjoyed the book, but will save everyone any details for now in case they have not yet read it. I did have an interesting dream last night though. I had imprisoned Mad Eye Moody and I put in his magic eye. Pretty weird.

7/16/2007: A Sunday at Fenway

Chuck and I went to a game at Fenway today. The Red Sox lost, but the game was still pretty good.

7/10/2007: Conservatives Fight Back

7/9/2007: No more Cactus Pete's
For years my friends and I have been going to Cactus Pete's in Worcester on Monday nights for 10cent wing night - but no more. As of yesterday they have closed their doors - supposedly to make room for a CVS Pharmacy.
But in other news, Worcester is once again considered New England's 2nd largest city, usurping Providence of it's short lived title.

7/5/2007: Dell Precision 690 Workstation
I came home yesterday to find my new workstation sitting on my front step (thank you UPS). It's got two 2GHz processors and 4 gigs of RAM. Oh, and it's running a 64-bit OS. I can't wait to take if for a real test spin, but first I need to buy new licenses of Matlab. Maybe I'll just install a new game or something.

7/4/2007: Independence Day
As I watched/listened to the Independence Day parade in Boston this morning a phrase from the Declaration of Independence kept coming to mind.

". . . all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."

6/30/2007: Ireland
I just got back from a trip to Ireland with my family. We had a few days in Dublin followed by a week at a house near Wicklow. I also got to spend a few days in Edinburgh with Mike. Some pictures can be seen here.

6/18/2007: Gentle Grace Productions Logo
My new logo for my production company is ready. I commissioned Julianne Martin to create an image that combined the gentle and yet strong aspects of the feminine form. This is what she came up with, and I couldn't be more pleased.

6/8/2007: Consulting
Today is my last day working for Raytheon. Starting next week I will be a private consultant. I already have my first contract in place which should give me work through the next few months. I'm ordering a 64-bit workstation from Dell to accommodate the analysis work I'll be doing.

2/02/2007: Peter and the Wolf
I'll be performing this weekend as the Grandfather in Peter and the Wolf with Ballet Arts Worcester. Click the link for more information.

1/31/2007: Gentle Grace Photography
I've put together a website to manage my photography. I'm hoping to add to my dance portfolio in the near future.

1/16/2007: Damn Yankees
I started rehearsals for Damn Yankees today at Assumption College. The director asked me to be in some of the group numbers to strengthen the dancing a bit. He called me a "ringer". The show is based on the 1994 revival but has been rewritten to play the Red Sox against the Yankees instead of the Washington Senators.
